U.S. officials say they have provided over three hundred vehicles to assist Pakistani soldiers pursuing Al-Qaeda and Taliban members in the border area. Nancy Powell, the U.S. ambassador to Pakistan, states that the presence of this equipment is essential for improving the safety conditions of Pakistani and American citizens living in the border region. Meanwhile, according to American officials, a Pakistani border guard who reportedly injured an American soldier on Sunday has been arrested by Pakistani forces. The U.S. military claims that following this shooting, a bomb was dropped on Afghan soil, but Pakistani Muslim politicians assert that this bomb was dropped on one of the border states of Pakistan, which is under the control of extremist religious parties.
