Pentagon Report on Unidentified Aerial Phenomena: No Evidence of Extraterrestrial Intelligence Found

The United States Department of Defense, the Pentagon, reported on Friday, March 9, regarding unidentified aerial phenomena, such as unidentified flying objects, stating that observations do not provide evidence of aliens or extraterrestrial intelligence; a conclusion that aligns with previous statements from the U.S. government aimed at assessing claims that have captivated the public for decades. According to the Associated Press, the Pentagon analyzed U.S. government investigations into unidentified aerial phenomena since 1945, commonly referred to as 'flying saucers,' but states that no evidence has been found indicating they are signs of alien life or that the U.S. government and private companies have reverse-engineered and concealed extraterrestrial technology. The report, prepared at the request of the U.S. Congress, states: 'All investigations, at all levels of classification, have concluded that most observations are ordinary objects and phenomena, resulting from misidentification.' Based on this report, U.S. officials have attempted over the years to find answers to the numerous reported sightings of flying saucers, but have yet to identify any real evidence of extraterrestrial life. Additionally, a 2021 government report that examined 144 cases of unidentified aerial phenomena, such as unidentified flying objects that appeared to fly at high speeds or in mysterious trajectories, found no extraterrestrial links. This issue gained attention last summer when a retired Air Force intelligence officer testified to Congress that the government was concealing a long-term program to recover and reverse-engineer unidentified flying objects. In response, the Pentagon dismissed his claims and stated in late 2022 that the new Pentagon office created to track reports of unidentified flying objects had received and reviewed 'hundreds' of new reports but had not found any evidence of extraterrestrial life. The authors of the report stated on Friday that their goal was to employ a 'rigorous scientific analysis' for a topic that has long captivated American public opinion. The Pentagon report further states: 'Many people sincerely hold beliefs based on their understanding of past experiences, the experiences of others they trust, or media they believe to be credible information sources.'
