Police in Rasht Arrest 30 People at 'Mixed Party'

Police raided a party in the city of Rasht, arresting 30 women and men. The website 'Jam-e Jam Online' reported on Tuesday (September 29) that 15 women and 15 men participated in this 'mixed' party, all of whom were arrested. The location of the party was one of the 'large villas' in Rasht, and it was reported that the detainees were engaged in 'dancing and revelry'. It was also reported that some 'alcoholic beverages' were discovered and seized from these individuals. On September 15 of this year, police also raided a party in the 'Niavaran' area of Tehran, arresting 26 girls and boys, and seizing some 'alcoholic drinks' from them. On September 8, 34 women and men were arrested in Kerman, on September 6, 20 young girls and boys in Shiraz, and on August 30, 20 girls and boys in Amol were arrested by security and law enforcement forces for participating in a 'mixed party'. On August 29 this year, police officials in Fars province reported the arrest of 63 girls and boys at a 'night party' in Shiraz, and on August 26, Basij forces arrested 60 girls and boys present at a gathering in northern Tehran. In recent months, law enforcement officers have arrested hundreds of young girls and boys during parties in several cities in Iran. The provinces of Tehran, Fars, East Azerbaijan, Hormozgan, and Kerman are among those where police have recently conducted raids on parties and night celebrations, resulting in the arrest of a significant number of young girls and boys. In Iran, participating in some mixed private parties can lead to arrests, and hundreds of reports on this issue have been published in the media over the past 35 years. The scope of these crackdowns has also extended to birthday and wedding celebrations, and so far, dozens of individuals have been arrested or released on bail and fines. In this context, another party ended with police intervention: 20 girls and boys were arrested in Amol, 40 young girls and boys were arrested at a 'night party' in the village of Ziarat in Golestan, 20 young girls and boys were arrested at a 'night party' in Shiraz, and 34 women and men were arrested at a 'night party' in Kerman.
