Police Report Two 'Armed Attackers' Killed in Iranshahr

The police chief of Sistan and Baluchestan province reported the killing of two 'armed' individuals in Iranshahr, accusing them of intending to 'attack' a patrol unit of the emergency brigade in the city. Iranian news agencies, citing the police news site, reported that Doostali Jalilian identified the two as 'criminals', 'armed', and 'non-Iranian'. According to this police chief, the two individuals 'attacked the emergency brigade patrol unit while shouting Allahu Akbar'. As narrated by the police chief of Sistan and Baluchestan, the two were killed by 'superior fire' from police officers. 'One killed and three injured' were reported in a separate armed conflict in Zahedan. The report stated that 'a pistol, 16 rounds of ammunition, a grenade pin, and an unexploded grenade were discovered at the scene'. Alongside this official narrative, the Halosh website, which covers news related to Baluchistan in Iran, published an alternative account. According to Halosh, the two were 'unarmed Baluch citizens' and 'the police targeted them with multiple shots at the Pastor intersection in Iranshahr without prior warning'. Halosh reported that their identities are still unknown, but the time of their killing was shortly before 8 PM on Friday, June 11. No further information has been released on this matter. Similar reports have repeatedly emerged from Sistan and Baluchestan province with both official and unofficial narratives. Halosh noted that on the evening of May 24, 1403, in a similar incident, military and security forces in Saravan 'shot at a Peugeot Pars vehicle carrying a family without warning', resulting in 'the death of two individuals, including a 14-year-old child'.
