Power: Iran's Missile Test Violates UN Resolutions

According to the Iranian Defense Minister, all stages of the design and construction of this missile were carried out by Iranian scientists and specialists, making the Emad the first long-range missile of the Islamic Republic with guidance and control capabilities until the moment of impact. This event, however, drew a negative reaction from the White House, which announced that Washington would provide a report on it to the United Nations. According to Josh Earnest, the White House spokesman, Iran has repeatedly violated UN Security Council resolutions regarding ballistic missiles, but despite this, it has remained committed to its obligations under the nuclear agreement. Samantha Power also pointed out that one of the 'important features' of the Vienna nuclear agreement is essentially 'the implementation of existing resolutions and regulations.'
