President Bush: It is Time to Set Aside Differences Regarding Iraq

President Bush, the President of the United States, called on the international community to assist in the reconstruction of Iraq after the war. The President added that it is time to set aside differences regarding the issue of the occupation of Iraq led by the United States. In his speech on Tuesday before the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Bush emphasized the necessity of cooperation and assistance from other countries around the world. Mr. Bush addressed the leaders of other nations, stating that the United Nations must assist the people of Iraq in drafting a constitution, training administrative services, and establishing free elections. Mr. Bush stated that the process of restoring sovereignty to the people of Iraq must follow its natural course in accordance with the needs of the Iraqi people. The President of the United States added that this process cannot be expedited nor delayed. In his remarks, Mr. Bush urged the international community to work to prevent the proliferation and expansion of chemical, biological, and nuclear weapons. Mr. Bush stated that terrorists could use these weapons in a manner that could result in sudden harm and disaster beyond what people can even imagine.
