Prevention of the 'Pan-Iranist Party' Ceremony

The Pan-Iranist Party, one of the oldest political parties in Iran, announced in a statement that it was unable to hold a ceremony to commemorate the 70th anniversary of its formation due to intervention by authorities. The party considers September 6, 1947, as the founding day of the Pan-Iranism doctrine. 'Hojjat Kalashi', an activist from the Pan-Iranist Party in Iran, told Radio Farda that following a judicial order and the presence of numerous agents, the ceremony was effectively prevented, although no one was arrested. In the statement dated September 7, the Pan-Iranist Party stated, 'This year, the government sought to prevent the commemoration ceremony by summoning and threatening party officials, and knowing that threats were ineffective, it mobilized operational forces and obtained a judicial order to detain and confront participants, preventing guests from entering the venue.' The party condemned the prevention of its anniversary ceremony as 'illegal, anti-national, and by the ruling body.' The statement further noted, 'The groundwork for a national awakening and renaissance has been laid, and the Iranian people do not consider the short ceiling of the ruling body worthy of their historical stature and see its shell as an obstacle to their flourishing.' According to the Pan-Iranist Party, the foundations of this party were established after the occupation of Iran by Allied forces during World War II, initially as an association on September 6, 1941, by a group of students from Alborz High School, which later created the 'Pan-Iranism doctrine' in 1947 and became a party in 1951 amidst the nationalization of oil struggles across Iran, eventually evolving into several parties and organizations and a broader movement.
