Prince Reza Pahlavi: Iran's sovereignty over the three islands in the Persian Gulf is not up for discussion

Prince Reza Pahlavi criticized the questioning of Iran's national sovereignty over the three islands at the joint meeting of the Arab Gulf states and the European Union on Thursday, October 18. He emphasized that Iran's sovereignty over these islands in the Persian Gulf is not debatable. In a post on social media platform X, he described the joint action of the Arab Gulf states and the EU as a consequence of the 'weakness and impotence of the Islamic Republic.' He stated, 'The Islamic Republic, through sabotage, terrorism, and extortion, has isolated Iran and tarnished the status and respect of Iranians in the international community, to the extent that this anti-national regime is now considered the greatest threat to the land and territorial integrity of Iran.' The son of the late Shah of Iran also asserted, 'The European Council should have listed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist organization to counter the threat of the Islamic Republic and supported renewed UN sanctions against the regime, but instead, by supporting historical distortions and the violation of Iran's territorial integrity by colonizers, it has insulted the Iranian people.' EU and Gulf Cooperation Council officials on Wednesday, October 17, in Brussels, accused Iran of 'occupying' the Greater Tunb, Lesser Tunb, and Abu Musa islands in the Persian Gulf and called on the Islamic Republic to end what they termed the 'occupation' of these three islands in accordance with the UN Charter regarding the necessity of respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of countries.
