Prince Reza Pahlavi on the Second Anniversary of the 'Bloody Friday' in Zahedan: The Day of Reckoning Will Come

On the second anniversary of the killing of dozens of citizens protesting against the Islamic Republic's forces in Zahedan, Prince Reza Pahlavi stated that the event of 'Bloody Friday' in Zahedan will not be erased from the memory of Iranian history and referred to the memory of the victims of that day as 'a fire that will never be extinguished.' He added that he stands alongside the 'noble and suffering people of Zahedan.' In a statement on the second anniversary of the direct shooting by the Islamic Republic's law enforcement officers that resulted in the deaths of dozens of protesters after Friday prayers on October 8, 2022, Prince Reza Pahlavi emphasized, 'The Iranian nation will undoubtedly bring the wrongdoers who ordered and executed that crime to trial in a national and fair court.' He further stated, 'The day of reckoning will come, and the plaintiffs will prevail. The noble and suffering people of Zahedan should know that I stand with them.' Following a protest against the assault of a police commander on a teenage Baloch girl in front of the Zahedan police station on October 8, 2022, police opened fire on the demonstrators, resulting in at least 100 deaths and around 300 injuries. In the lead-up to the second anniversary of 'Bloody Friday' in Zahedan and amid an increased military presence in the city of Sistan and Baluchestan, Abdul Hamid Ismailzahi, the Sunni Friday prayer leader of the city, described the 'Bloody Friday' incident as 'a great tragedy' and emphasized the need for justice and punishment for the criminals. Additionally, journalist Mehdi Nakhlahmadi stated that Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Republic, prioritizes supporting the 'criminals' responsible for the 'Bloody Friday' incident.
