Prince Reza Pahlavi Responds to the 'Suspicious Death' of Mansoureh Sagvand: The Regime and Its Mercenaries Should Know That These Crimes Will Not Be Forgotten

Following reports about the 'suspicious death' of Mansoureh Sagvand, a law student from Abdanan who claimed to have been a 'honorary member of the police and was threatened with death after resigning,' Prince Reza Pahlavi called for compatriots to attend the funeral of this young woman in a tweet. In his tweet, Prince Reza Pahlavi wrote: 'Mansoureh Sagvand, who sacrificed her life for Iran, bravely stood against Khamenei and his criminal regime. Words fail to express such bravery.' He also emphasized: 'The regime and its mercenaries should know that these crimes will not be forgotten, and any disruption of the funeral or harassment of her grieving family will only fuel the anger of the Iranian people.' According to posts and images shared on an Instagram account attributed to Mansoureh Sagvand, this student from Lorestan had collaborated with the police as an honorary officer but resigned after the Islamic Republic suppressed public protests. According to the human rights organization 'Hengaw,' in a letter given to a friend before her death, Mansoureh Sagvand stated: 'I am currently hiding, but sooner or later they will find me. If something happens to me, I want everyone to know that I did not commit suicide.' She had also previously announced that she was an honorary police officer and had 'witnessed crimes' before resigning from this governmental body. She emphasized that 'oppression does not last' and 'this revolution will happen sooner than you think.' Following the reports of this young woman's death, officials and media affiliated with the Islamic Republic repeated old narratives regarding the deaths of opponents and protesters, claiming that the 18-year-old died of 'cardiac arrest.'
