Prince Reza Pahlavi: The Regime's Missile Attack on Israel Was a Declaration of War Against the Iranian People

On Tuesday, Prince Reza Pahlavi issued a statement saying, "The missile attack by the Islamic Republic regime on Israel tonight was a clear declaration of war against that country and, in fact, a declaration of war against the Iranian people." He addressed the "great nation of Iran" and stated that "the full responsibility for this madness lies with the Islamic Republic regime and Khamenei himself, and they must be held accountable for its consequences." He added, "Khamenei and his regime, with four decades of support for terrorist groups and fueling proxy wars in the region, have brought our dear Iran to the brink of direct war." The son of the last Shah further emphasized, "In these critical moments, when the danger of war looms over our beloved land, I am more concerned than ever for my compatriots across that pure land. Today is the time for greater unity among all segments of the nation to end this 45-year nightmare. A free and prosperous Iran is your rightful claim, dear and noble people. With solidarity and national will, we can liberate Iran from the clutches of this demonic regime and restore it to its true glory." Prince Reza also warned those who still hope for reform and change in this regime, stating that reformism and moderation have no meaning in this regime. "Crisis creation and warmongering are inherent in its nature and foundation. The essence of this regime is against Iran's national interests and opposes peace, stability, and international security." He advised those military forces who "care for Iran" not to become victims of Khamenei's apocalyptic ambitions and corrupt affiliates, to turn their backs on the regime, and stand with the people of Iran. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Tuesday claimed responsibility for launching hundreds of missiles toward Israel, stating that this was the "first wave of ballistic and hypersonic missile attacks by the IRGC." The statement indicated that this action was in response to the killing of Ismail Haniyeh, the political leader of Hamas. The statement, published by the IRGC-affiliated news agency "Tasnim," noted that "this operation was approved by the Supreme National Security Council" of the Islamic Republic and "communicated by the General Staff of the Armed Forces" and was supported by the Islamic Republic Army and the Ministry of Defense. In this context, U.S. President Joe Biden announced on Tuesday on social media platform "X" that he and his Vice President held a national security meeting "to discuss the Islamic Republic of Iran's imminent missile attack plans against Israel."
