One listener of Radio Farda stated that instead of addressing the demands of the protesters and upholding their civic rights, municipal officials are attempting to distort the reality and downplay the protesters' grievances to make these protests seem baseless. According to this user, municipal officials are trying to resolve the issue through a security approach. Some websites have reported that the increase in rent prices is one of the reasons for the strike. One user of Radio Farda also mentioned: 'The municipality has announced that if the stalls do not reopen and the protest continues, all their deposits will be confiscated.'
