Publication of the Book 'Historical Works of Shemiran'

The first volume of the book 'Historical Works of Shemiran', which includes historical geography and an introduction to the archaeological sites and historical-cultural buildings of Lavasan and Rudbar Qasran, has recently been published. This illustrated 418-page book is the result of a project to investigate and identify the historical-cultural works of Shemiran County (northern Tehran), which was prepared from the first half of Ordibehesht 1381 (April-May 2002) until the end of that year. According to the head of the team, this investigation began in the Lar Plain (Mazandaran Province) and then moved counterclockwise from the easternmost point (the village of Ira), covering the areas of Greater and Lesser Lavasan and Rudbar Qasran to the northwesternmost point (Dizin Pass) and finally the surroundings of the Tochal and Kolakchal peaks. According to Heritage News, Nasser Pazouki, the director of cultural heritage in Tehran Province and the author of this work, in this book, after mentioning the geographical location and importance of Shemiran and the administrative divisions of this area, presents a historical geography study and the etymology of Rudbar Qasran, followed by an introduction to each of the documented historical sites in Shemiran County. It is worth noting that this book, in addition to providing the latest information regarding the cultural-historical works of the region and their protective and restoration status, also includes an archaeological map and a list of the works of Shemiran County at the end of the book.
