Raising $100 Million for Trump's 2020 Election Campaign

Reports indicate that Donald Trump, the President of the United States, has raised over $100 million for his 2020 election campaign so far. According to the Associated Press, although there are still two years until the U.S. presidential election, raising such an amount suggests that Donald Trump is in a better position compared to his potential rivals. The report states that the campaign raised $18 million in July, June, and September, bringing the total contributions raised for the campaign since January 2017 to $100 million. The Associated Press notes that the majority of the contributions for Trump's campaign have come from individuals donating $200 or less. The report adds that Donald Trump has openly discussed preparations for the 2020 presidential election without any concealment and has even attacked his potential rivals in this election. Such extensive campaign efforts two years before the election by a sitting U.S. president are rare. The Associated Press mentions that Barack Obama, the former U.S. president, had not yet begun his actions for the 2012 presidential election in a similar position in 2010 and had only raised $2.5 million.
