Rallies in Support of Trump Held in Cities Across the U.S.

Demonstrations and rallies in support of the President of the United States have been held in various cities across the country. Reports indicate that most of the rallies occurred without violence; however, there were reports of violence and clashes in California. Reuters states that demonstrations in support of Donald Trump took place in at least 28 out of 50 states in the U.S. According to NPR and Reuters, organizers of these supportive demonstrations expected fewer participants compared to those who protested against Mr. Trump during the inauguration. This rally, held on March 5, is titled 'Spirit of America.' One organizer told the Indianapolis Star that Mr. Trump's opponents 'give him no chance (to do his work)... We have gathered to show our support for the President of the United States.' Reuters reports that most of these demonstrations were held without issues or violence. However, in Berkeley, California, clashes occurred between 200 to 300 supporters and opponents of the President, resulting in injuries to three police officers. According to the Star Tribune in Minnesota, over 400 of Mr. Trump's supporters and fewer opponents gathered at the state building in St. Paul. Some scuffles occurred, and at least six opponents were arrested. Nashville's public radio also reported physical confrontations between supporters and opponents, but police intervened to prevent further clashes, and overall, nothing significant happened. In New York, Donald Trump's hometown and a major center of his activities before winning the presidential election, around 200 supporters gathered in front of Trump Tower. In Washington, D.C., nearly 150 people marched toward Lafayette Square to show their support for the 45th President of the United States. The President is spending his weekend in Palm Beach, Florida, and his supporters' caravan briefly stopped in front of some supporters on the way to Mar-a-Lago, where Mr. Trump got out of the car and waved to them. Donald Trump won the election last year and has been leading the U.S. government since January 20, a month and a half ago.
