With the increasing likelihood of a U.S. response to the brutal crackdown on the people by the Islamic Republic, many statements from Congress members focused on this issue. Senator Lindsey Graham stated: 'Real hell is coming for the Islamic Republic.' Lindsey Graham, a senior Republican senator in the U.S. Senate, mentioned without details that Donald Trump intends to unleash a 'real hell' against the Islamic Republic. He wrote on X: 'The final blow to the Ayatollahs will be a combination of the patriotic courage of the unparalleled protesters and decisive action from Donald Trump. The turning point in this long journey will be Trump's will.' This senator added: 'Without deploying ground troops, but as promised, a 'real hell' against a regime that has crossed all red lines is on the way, with a wide range of military, cyber, and psychological attacks.' Senator Tom Cotton remarked: 'The Islamic Republic has blood on its hands, both Iranian and American.' He stated: 'While Iran is massacring thousands of its citizens, remember that this is a terrorist government that has killed hundreds of Americans and has attempted to carry out terrorism on American soil.' A bipartisan statement from two U.S. senators: 'We also wish for a free and prosperous Iran.' Jim Risch, a Republican senator from Idaho, and Jeanne Shaheen, a Democratic senator from New Hampshire, the chair and senior member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, issued a joint statement expressing their solidarity with the Iranian people. Previously, Brian Mast, a Republican chair of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, stated in an interview with Fox News: 'The fall of the Ayatollah is inevitable. The rial is worthless, and the regime [of the Islamic Republic of Iran] cannot even finance basic services. The only way for Khamenei to cling to power right now is to massacre innocent Iranians who have risen up to protest. This is not a strategy for victory.' Additionally, Ken Calvert, an American legislator, on Tuesday night, referring to Donald Trump's remarks to 'patriotic Iranians,' stated: 'The United States stands with the brave Iranians who have taken to the streets in opposition to the [established] tyrannical regime in Tehran.' President Trump's message to patriotic Iranians: 'Continue your protests, seize the institutions; help is on the way.' Humanitarian interventions and a potential attack on the Islamic Republic were discussed with General Petraeus, the former CENTCOM commander. A White House spokesperson stated: 'The military option to support protesters in Iran is on the table.' The Israeli ambassador announced an upcoming UN Security Council meeting regarding the massacre of people in Iran.
