Reactions to the Death of Miners: The Priority of the Islamic Republic is Building Equipped Tunnels for Terrorists in Gaza and Lebanon

The death of dozens of workers due to an incident at a coal mine in Tabas sparked widespread reactions on social media. Prince Reza Pahlavi emphasized that the lives of workers hold no value for the 'corrupt and plundering' Islamic Republic, and labor organizations also held the government responsible for this incident. Prince Reza Pahlavi attributed the 'disaster' at the Tabas coal mine to the 'negligence and incompetence' of the Islamic Republic, stating that 'the Iranian nation is once again mourning the loss of dozens of hardworking miners' in 'this national tragedy.' In a message expressing sympathy for the families of the deceased and injured workers, he said: 'I mourn for those who worked honorably but with the least resources deep in the earth.' He also emphasized that instead of 'ensuring the welfare and security of Iranian workers,' the Islamic Republic's priority is 'arming and equipping and financing anti-Iranian terrorists' and 'building equipped tunnels for terrorists in Gaza and Lebanon instead of ensuring safe working environments with proper ventilation and explosion-proof safety systems for Iranian miners underground.' Additionally, Prince Reza Pahlavi referred to a 'better tomorrow' where 'with the unity and solidarity of workers and all the people of Iran, we will strive to build a country where the lives and welfare of Iranians are prioritized' and 'miners can continue their work with peace of mind in a safe and modern environment. A future where there is no trace of the Islamic Republic in Iran.' Masih Alinejad, a political activist and journalist, also emphasized in an English post on X that 'the lives of workers and innocent people are worth much less to the dictatorship of the Islamic Republic than saving the lives of Hezbollah and Hamas terrorists.' She also criticized the big lie of Masoud Pezeshkian claiming that 'the people of Iran are secure' in 'defense of a terrorist regime,' stating 'as long as the Islamic Republic exists, no one inside or outside the country is safe.' Alinejad highlighted the 'anger of the Iranian people' regarding the deadly methane explosion in the coal mine that left dozens dead and injured, stating they reject the regime's claim that 'this was just an accident' and consider it 'a crime.' Ali Karimi, a prominent Iranian football figure and well-known opponent of the Islamic Republic, referred to the response of the Islamic Republic officials to the deaths of miners in Tabas, saying: 'Three days of public mourning for the terrorist Haniyeh across all of Iran, but for our fellow Iranians, only three days in Khorasan! Do you still doubt that Iran is occupied by this clerical regime?' Shirin Ebadi, a human rights lawyer and Nobel Peace Prize laureate, wrote on her Telegram channel: 'Whatever comes out of the mine belongs to the government, as martyrs are presented to the nation.' Hamed Esmaeilioun, a plaintiff for the victims of the downed Ukrainian passenger plane due to IRGC missile fire, stated that these workers 'became victims of the government's indifference and owners' disregard for the most basic workers' rights and workplace safety' and 'dozens of families lost their breadwinners.' He emphasized that 'this massacre is not an isolated incident or an accidental event,' referring to the deprivation of workers from unions and organizations over the past 45 years, adding: 'Disregarding life, neglecting health and safety in the workplace is a component of the structure of the Islamic Republic. In this structure, humans are reduced to victims of ruthless policies set to benefit plunderers and oppressors.' Ali Daei, another well-known and popular football figure in Iran, also expressed condolences to the Iranian nation regarding the incident of the death of dozens of miners in Tabas in an Instagram post. Hossein Ronaghi, a civil and political activist in Iran, emphasized that the 'death of more than 50 miners' is not 'negligence or an accident, it is a crime.' Mr. Ronaghi stated that 'the death of none of us Iranians over all these years has been natural,' considering it 'a direct result of the ineffective government policies based on rent, corruption, and oppression,' and said: 'This bitter crime once again shows the indifference and irresponsibility of the Islamic Republic and its agents towards the lives of citizens, a government that takes the lives of the people of this land in one way or another every day.' Following the explosion at the 'Madan-Juy' coal mine in Tabas on the evening of September 31, the director general of crisis management of South Khorasan province and the Red Crescent Society announced that 51 people were killed and 20 injured. Meanwhile, reports indicate that several workers are still missing.
