Reports of Severe Injuries to Tomaj Salehi Due to Violent 'Kidnapping'

Tomaj Salehi's account on the social media platform X, managed by his associates, announced that this detained artist has suffered 'severe injuries to the eye and face' due to 'violent kidnapping and severe beating in Babolsar.' In a message published on Thursday, December 14, by the admin on Tomaj Salehi's account on X, it was stated: 'Another document contradicting the claims of Jafari, the head of the judiciary in Isfahan, regarding the complete adherence of judicial agents to the law.' Salehi's close associates emphasized in this message that 'it seems the unjust and illegal detention of Tomaj in a state of uncertainty is to conceal this crime by some.' The claim of 'lawfulness' by judicial authorities has been criticized and described as 'deceptive, weak, and unfounded.' The admin of Tomaj Salehi's page added, 'They are waiting for the signs of injury and bruises on this detained protest rapper's body to heal so that after his possible release, cyber actors can claim what injuries? And if Tomaj complains about this lawlessness and states that he has filed a complaint, it will surely be labeled as spreading falsehoods!' On Wednesday, HRANA, the media organ of the Human Rights Activists in Iran, reported on the continued uncertainty of Tomaj Salehi in Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan, stating that he has been 'beaten' in the past two weeks. Tomaj Salehi was re-arrested by plainclothes agents shortly after being temporarily released on bail on December 9 and was taken to Dastgerd Prison in Isfahan. The Mizan news agency, affiliated with the judiciary, claimed that this protest rapper had published 'some false and undocumented statements' on social media, announcing that he was arrested on charges of spreading falsehoods and disturbing public opinion. Previously, human rights lawyer Tanaz Kolahchian told Voice of America that Tomaj Salehi 'did not spread falsehoods' but rather what he said was 'a narrative and not a crime.'
