Request for Legal Action Against Sadegh Larijani and Ali Akbar Nategh Nouri in the 'Land Grabbing' Case of Lavasan

The Justice-Seeking Student Movement has sent a letter to Ebrahim Raisi, the head of the judiciary, requesting that Sadegh Larijani and Ali Akbar Nategh Nouri be prosecuted in connection with 'land grabbing' in 'Kalak' Lavasan and, if 'violations are proven', be sentenced to 'the maximum punishment'. According to statements from the Friday prayer leader of Lavasan and published images, Sadegh Larijani, the former head of the judiciary, issued an order declaring the issuance of construction permits for 62 residential villa complexes of 2,000 square meters in this area as 'permissible'. Ali Akbar Nategh Nouri, the former head of the Leader's Office Inspection, is also accused of requesting the Lavasan municipality not to appeal the court ruling regarding this matter due to his familial relationship with the owners of the project. Meanwhile, the Justice-Seeking Student Movement has asked Mr. Raisi to take judicial action regarding the potential violations by the former head of the judiciary and the current head of the Leader's Office Inspection, while ensuring all rights of the accused are respected. In recent weeks, reports have emerged regarding 'violations' in the construction of a luxury town in an area of over one million square meters in the 'Kalak' region of Lavasan. Reports indicate that this complex overlooks the Latiyan Dam and is designed similarly to the 'Beverly Hills' in Los Angeles, referred to as 'Basti Hills'. Allegations of violations in this project have been raised since 2006, and previously, the head of the Lavasan Endowment and the head of the Shahr-e Rey Endowment were arrested for 'forming a financial corruption gang' related to land grabbing in the Endowment Organization. Faizollah Shirkhani, the former head of the Lavasan City Council, stated in an interview with 'Avanet TV' that this project began in 2003 but was halted due to opposition from the Supreme Urban Planning Council and the Lavasan City Council and municipality. According to Mr. Shirkhani, the second council of Lavasan was also dissolved due to 'resistance against the construction of this project'. Hamid Yaghoubi Nejad, the former mayor of Lavasan, also mentioned that after the dissolution of the city council, the land division for this project was carried out under the orders of Kamran Daneshjoo, the governor of Tehran, and the project commenced. Ultimately, the Lavasan court ruled in favor of this project, and in a session at the Leader's Office Inspection, it was requested that no appeal be made against this ruling. A documentary produced by 'Avanet TV' claims that Ali Akbar Nategh Nouri is related to the Najafi family, the owners of this project. The mayor of Lavasan stated that based on the order of Vahid Haqaniyan, the deputy for special affairs at the Leader's Office, the implementation of this project was temporarily halted but was ultimately approved by a special committee from the judiciary.
