Reward for Justice: The U.S. Offers Up to $10 Million for Information on Ahmadinejad, Khatibi, and Nikayin

On Monday, the U.S. State Department once again announced a reward of up to $10 million for information regarding three "cyber operatives" of the Islamic Republic, releasing their names and images. The individuals are Mansour Ahmadinejad, Ahmad Khatibi Aqda, and Amir Hossein Nikayin Ravaari, for whom the U.S. State Department has set a reward under the "Rewards for Justice" program for information leading to their arrest. According to the State Department, "These hackers targeted healthcare facilities, transportation services, and other critical infrastructure in the United States and around the world." The State Department previously stated that these three cyber operatives of the Islamic Republic were convicted on August 10 of last year by a federal jury in Newark, New Jersey, for "conspiracy to commit fraud and computer-related activities, major damage to a protected computer, and sending a demand related to harming a protected computer." Last summer, the U.S. State Department also issued a similar announcement, offering a $10 million reward for any information leading to the arrest of these three individuals. The U.S. is offering up to $15 million for information about the financial network of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), has sanctioned 10 individuals and 2 companies affiliated with the IRGC for "malicious cyber activities," and has set a $15 million reward for identifying the IRGC's financial network.
