Reza Aghdasi, imprisoned labor activist, deprived of medical care despite 'poor physical condition'

The news agency of human rights activists in Iran reported that Reza Aghdasi, a imprisoned labor activist, has been deprived of appropriate medical treatment despite his 'poor physical condition and severe pain in his legs'. According to HRANA, this dismissed worker from Iran Khodro, who lost hearing in one ear during the Iran-Iraq war, is currently suffering from severe leg pain and symptoms such as darkening and itching. The report states that despite multiple visits by Reza Aghdasi to the medical unit of Evin Prison, the prescribed treatments have not been effective in improving his condition. As reported by HRANA, this labor activist was recently transferred to a hospital outside the prison for treatment. Previously, the Hengaw human rights organization reported that Reza Aghdasi, who has been under medical treatment due to mobility and physical issues, has two sick children. He was arrested and imprisoned on the second of Aban this year after appearing at the third branch of the Evin Prosecutor's Office. The 26th branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Iman Afshari, sentenced Mr. Aghdasi to 4 years and 3 months in prison on charges including 'propaganda against the regime' and 'collusion and conspiracy to commit a crime against national security'. Reza Aghdasi, who was also summoned to Evin's prosecutor's office on the 23rd of Mehr, was arrested at his home along with his wife during the 'Women, Life, Freedom' movement in 1401.
