Reza Pahlavi Expresses Sympathy for Victims of Tehran Attacks; Maryam Rajavi Condemns Violence

Prince Reza Pahlavi and Maryam Rajavi, the leader of the People's Mujahedin of Iran, condemned the 'terrorist' attacks in Tehran on Wednesday, June 7th. Armed individuals simultaneously attacked the Islamic Consultative Assembly and the mausoleum of Ruhollah Khomeini in Tehran. According to the latest reports, 16 people were killed and over 50 injured in these attacks. Meanwhile, Iranian intelligence and security officials stated that all attackers were killed and one woman was arrested. Hours after the attack, the Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the attacks in Tehran. In this context, Prince Reza Pahlavi expressed his condolences to the people and families of the victims, stating: 'While condemning this savage attack, I express my deep sympathy with the noble nation of Iran, especially with the families who have lost their loved ones.' Reza Pahlavi remarked: 'Violence breeds violence; encouraging terror only leads to uncontrollable fear. A regime based on terror and deception leads to nothing but ruin. By restoring sovereignty to the capable hands of the people, who are the true owners of this country, let us work together through national understanding to save our homeland from the brink of collapse.' On the other hand, Maryam Rajavi also condemned 'the shedding of innocent blood under any pretext.' According to the 'Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran,' Maryam Rajavi stated in a statement: 'The actions of ISIS clearly benefit the rule of the Supreme Leader, and Khamenei strongly welcomes it to escape from regional and international isolation.' Ms. Rajavi further referred to Ayatollah Khamenei as 'the central banker of terrorism,' asserting that the main sponsor of terrorism is trying to deceitfully swap the roles of the executioner and the victim, portraying the central banker of terrorism as a victim.
