Russia Attacks Kyiv with Drone Waves for the Second Consecutive Night

Ukrainian officials say that Russia targeted Kyiv, the capital, with several waves of drones for the second consecutive night, causing damage to residential buildings and injuring at least one civilian. Serhiy Popko, the head of the Kyiv military administration, wrote on his Telegram channel on Monday, October 30: "Another night, another concern. The enemy is not reducing the intensity of air attacks on Ukraine and Kyiv." Popko added that about 10 drones, which targeted the city multiple times from different directions, were destroyed. According to him, none of these attacks resulted in casualties, but the debris from them injured at least one man slightly. Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, also wrote on Telegram that the remnants of the destroyed drones landed in three main areas of the capital, causing damage to the roofs and facades of several residential buildings and power cables. The air raid alert in Kyiv lasted for more than five hours until the air force declared the sky 'safe' at 2:15 AM. This attack followed Russian strikes on the capital and other cities on Sunday, during which 17 people were injured in one of the central Ukrainian cities. The National Police of Ukraine announced on its Telegram channel that in Kharkiv, in eastern Ukraine near the Russian border, at least 12 people were injured due to Russian-guided bombings overnight. He added that several residential buildings were also damaged. Reuters reports that it cannot independently verify these reports. Russia has not responded to these news reports either. Both countries deny targeting civilians in the over two-and-a-half-year war that Russia has waged against Ukraine. Since March 2022, Russia has carried out extensive attacks on Ukrainian territory using missiles, rockets, and drones.
