Russia Claims Hezbollah Remains 'Organized' Despite Heavy Israeli Strikes

The Russian Foreign Ministry states that Hezbollah remains an organized entity and has not lost its chain of command despite heavy Israeli attacks. Moscow also claims that Israel is attempting to ignite armed conflict throughout the Middle East. According to Reuters, Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, told reporters on Wednesday: 'Based on our assessments, Hezbollah, including its military branch, has not lost its chain of command and demonstrates its organization.' She alleged that the West, particularly the United States and Britain, are stoking conflict in the Middle East, while the United States has repeatedly attempted to mediate between Israel and Hamas to stop the fighting in Gaza and reduce regional tensions. The spokesperson also criticized Israel's 'missile attack' on a building in Damascus, the capital of Syria, calling it a 'gross violation' of Syrian sovereignty. Russia has been a major supporter of Bashar al-Assad's regime in its war against domestic opponents. The ongoing war began with an attack by the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas, supported by the Islamic Republic, on southern Israel on October 7 of last year. Following this, Hezbollah, another group backed by the Islamic Republic, opened another front against Israel with its rocket attacks. There are now fears that after the second direct missile attack by the Islamic Republic on Israel on September 30, this war could escalate further and lead to a direct confrontation between Israel and the Islamic Republic. Israel is currently considering how to respond to the recent attack by the Iranian government. Additionally, two Syrian citizens have been arrested in Lebanon on charges of spying for Israel, and there was a discussion between Netanyahu and Biden regarding the response to the Iranian missile attack; the White House described it as 'frank and substantive.'
