Russian Missile and Drone Attacks on Lviv; Ukraine Downed 11 'Shahed' Drones

Ukraine's Air Force announced on Sunday that it shot down 9 out of 11 Iranian 'Shahed' drones launched by Russia, as well as 9 out of 14 cruise missiles. The governor of Lviv wrote on the social media platform Telegram: 'The attack in Lviv destroyed a building and caused a fire.' He stated: 'Rescue operations are underway.' Meanwhile, an official from the Odesa region in Ukraine reported that hundreds of thousands of people were left without electricity on Sunday after the remnants of a downed Russian drone caused a fire at an energy facility. Ukraine's largest private electricity operator, DTEK, stated that power was cut to approximately 170,000 homes as a result of this attack. In recent days, Russia has intensified its attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure, causing significant damage in several regions. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that 10 Czech-made 'Vampire' rockets landed in the Belgorod border region on Sunday. A regional official reported that a woman was injured in the fire caused by this attack. Russian President Vladimir Putin, by signing decrees, initiated the recruitment of 150,000 soldiers annually in the spring.
