Ryan O'Neal, who is also known for his long relationship with the late Farrah Fawcett, announced in 2012 that he had been diagnosed with prostate cancer but expressed hope for a full recovery. O'Neal, a Los Angeles native, was an amateur boxer before entering the acting arena. His role as 'Rodney' in the 1964 series 'Peyton Place' served as a launching pad for the young actor, who quickly ascended the ranks.
