Saeed Madani from Damavand Prison: I Will Continue My Protests by Any Means Necessary

Saeed Madani, a political prisoner exiled from Evin to Damavand prison, wrote in a letter to the head of the judiciary on Thursday, April 30: "I will continue my protests regarding the current chaotic economic, social, and political situation by any means necessary." In his letter to Mohseni Eje'i, he noted: "I know, and you know, that the current judicial system is fundamentally unaccountable, but I will also pursue my legal demands, and the inhumane and illegal pressures on myself and my family will not hinder my loyalty to national interests and my support for the civil resistance of the people to secure the right to self-determination and life in a society free from discrimination, injustice, despotism, and lawlessness." Saeed Madani's family expressed their concerns for his health in an open letter on Tuesday, stating that his exile to Damavand prison was the result of a meeting of the judiciary's advisory council attended by the head of the judiciary, Gholamhossein Mohseni Eje'i. Saeed Madani was sentenced to nine years in prison in Ordibehesht 1401 on charges including "anti-security actions" and was exiled from Evin to Damavand prison on April 14, 1403. Concerns about Saeed Madani's health and safety in Damavand prison have been raised, with Abolfazl Ghadiani stating that Khamenei and his repressive supporters are fearful of public awareness. Twenty-one political prisoners criticized the exile of Saeed Madani to Damavand prison, stating that the rulers are trying to create a hollow authority. The transfer of Saeed Madani from Evin to Damavand was described by a lawyer as "against prison regulations."
