Safest Cars of the Year Selected by a Reputable American Institute

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has published a list of the safest cars of the year, allowing customers to choose the safest vehicles in the U.S. market for the current year. The IIHS has designated 15 vehicles as 'Top Safety Pick+' and 47 vehicles as 'Safety Pick.' The 'Top Safety Pick+' vehicles have higher safety ratings than the 'Safety Pick' vehicles. Subaru has the safest products with 4 vehicles in the 'Top Safety Pick+' list. Subaru is a subsidiary of Fuji Heavy Industries and is most renowned for its use of flat engines. Fuji Heavy Industries, which manufactures Subaru vehicles, is a business partner of Toyota. This Japanese company is known not only for the safety and sportiness of its products but also for their exceptional handling and high durability. In the small car category, the Kia Forte, Kia Soul, Subaru Impreza, and Subaru WRX are among the safest cars in the world in the 'Top Safety Pick+' section. In the midsize car category, the Subaru Legacy, Subaru Outback, and Toyota Camry have been designated as 'Top Safety Pick+' vehicles. In the luxury sedan category, the BMW 5 Series, Genesis G80, Genesis G90, Lincoln Continental, and Mercedes-Benz E-Class are recognized as the safest cars in the 'Top Safety Pick+' section. In the midsize SUV category, the Hyundai Santa Fe and Hyundai Santa Fe Sport are the safest. In the luxury SUV category, the Mercedes-Benz GLC is considered the safest. The 'Safety Pick' class received lower scores in crash tests compared to the 'Top Safety Pick+' class. In the small car category, the Chevrolet Volt, Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid, Hyundai Elantra, Hyundai Elantra GT, Mazda 3, Subaru Crosstrek, Toyota Corolla, and Toyota Prius have been selected as safe vehicles. In the midsize car category, the Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, Nissan Altima, and Nissan Maxima have been chosen as safe vehicles. In the luxury midsize car category, the Alfa Romeo Giulia, Audi A3, Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, Lexus ES, Lexus IS, Volvo S60, and Volvo V60 are recognized as safe. In the large car category, the Kia Cadenza and Toyota Avalon are designated as safe vehicles. In the small SUV category, the Honda CR-V, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Mazda CX-3, Mazda CX-5, Mitsubishi Outlander, Nissan Rogue, Subaru Forester, and Toyota RAV4 are identified as safe. In the midsize SUV category, the Honda Pilot, Kia Sorento, Mazda CX-9, and Toyota Highlander, and in the luxury midsize SUV category, the Acura MDX, Acura RDX, Buick Envision, Lexus NX, Lexus RX, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and Volvo XC90 are introduced as safe vehicles. Only a few models from the introduced list are sold in Iran, including the Kia Sorento, Lexus NX, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Mitsubishi Outlander, Toyota RAV4, Hyundai Sonata, Kia Optima, Toyota Corolla, Toyota Prius, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Kia Forte, and Toyota Camry. All these models are imported to Iran, and only the Mazda 3 is produced in Iran. This list is dedicated to vehicles available in the U.S. market and does not include products produced in Europe and Asia that do not operate in the U.S.
