Salehi: Details of Lausanne Agreement Document Prepared and with Foreign Minister

Simultaneously with the request of some Iranian parliamentarians for the publication of the 'fact sheet' regarding Iran's agreement with the 5+1 group in Lausanne, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran announced that this fact sheet has been prepared and is currently with the Foreign Minister. According to Ali Akbar Salehi, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, this 'fact sheet' was prepared by this organization and the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic. According to IRIB news agency, Mr. Salehi stated on Wednesday, April 19, that this 'fact sheet' is in the 'hands' of Mohammad Javad Zarif, the Iranian Foreign Minister, and will be published at his 'discretion.' In response to the question of why Iran's fact sheet was not presented simultaneously with the American fact sheet, he clarified: 'The story of this matter is very complicated; after all, these negotiations are very sensitive and can be harmed in any way.' Mr. Salehi accused Israel and 'some regional countries' of attempting to 'disrupt' the Lausanne agreement and added: 'Therefore, as much as possible, such sensitive negotiations should be conducted discreetly, and no one should be given the opportunity to disrupt or make excuses.' The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran emphasized: 'When you give information, anyone can interpret it from their own perspective... if these interpretations accumulate, they may create ambiguities and problems that could face the essence of the negotiations with major obstacles.' Benjamin Netanyahu, the Prime Minister of Israel, has expressed his strong opposition to the Lausanne agreement, describing it as a 'bad deal' that, according to him, will not prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. However, John Brennan, the head of the CIA, while supporting the Lausanne agreement, has called some criticisms against it 'dishonest' and stated that he is surprised by the concessions Tehran has made. Mr. Salehi continued his remarks on Wednesday, stating: 'The fact sheet that the Americans provided mixed correct and incorrect information, and it can be said that they presented their own narrative and interpretation to create some confusion within our country.' Salehi's remarks confirm what Mohammad Javad Zarif said on Saturday, that the text published by the U.S. regarding the Lausanne agreement has 'clear contradictions' with the original agreement. Zarif emphasized: 'Like what has been said about the suspension of sanctions, in this case, the representative of the European Union emailed Ms. Sherman asking why you have misrepresented our position.' In recent days, Iranian and American government officials have given differing opinions regarding the timing of lifting sanctions on Iran. Hassan Rouhani, the President, has stated that 'all sanctions and six Security Council resolutions will be lifted on the day the nuclear agreement is implemented.' However, according to Josh Earnest, the White House spokesman, the Obama administration opposes lifting sanctions on the same day that a potential nuclear agreement will be implemented. Meanwhile, in recent days, several critics of the agreement reached in the Lausanne negotiations have announced that the texts announced by Iran and the U.S. regarding this agreement are different and have called for the Iranian Foreign Ministry to publish the text of this agreement. In this context, Jawad Karimi Qodosi, a representative from Mashhad in Parliament, stated on Tuesday, after Mohammad Javad Zarif's presence in a closed session of Parliament, that the 'fact sheet' regarding the Lausanne agreement will be published by the Foreign Ministry in the coming days. Mohammad Hassan Asafari, a member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of Parliament, also announced on Wednesday that a group of parliamentarians, in a letter criticizing the U.S. approach in publishing the 'fact sheet,' have requested that the Iranian 'fact sheet' be published as soon as possible.
