Saman Pashaei's Brother Claims He Likely Suffered 'Concussion' While in Detention

Saman Pashaei's brother, a wrestler recently released from prison, claims he likely suffered a 'concussion' while in the custody of the Sanandaj Intelligence Department. Sardar Pashaei wrote on the messaging platform 'X' on Thursday, October 6, that he learned from friends who visited Saman that he is experiencing 'symptoms of dizziness, headaches, and imbalance.' According to Sardar Pashaei, Saman was sent to the Sanandaj hospital on the eighth day of interrogation with a 'possible concussion' and 'in a wheelchair accompanied by five intelligence agents.' Sardar Pashaei emphasized that 'the responsibility for any incident involving Saman lies with the intelligence departments of Saqez and Sanandaj.' The brother of this athlete, who has been temporarily released on bail, added, 'The courage of Khamenei's agents is nothing more than torturing a few innocent people with their eyes closed in solitary cells.' He addressed the forces of the Islamic Republic, saying, 'Do you have the ability to face the people outside of prison, or must you hide your identity in a hundred ways? We will take revenge for these tortures. Believe it.' After his release on bail, Saman Pashaei stated, 'Shame on the enemy that has taken refuge in prison.' Sardar Pashaei was arrested in July, and according to his brother, prior to that, family members including their parents had been 'detained and interrogated.' Meanwhile, part of the writings of Javad Rouhi, a protester who died in prison, regarding torture during detention to extract forced confessions has been published, revealing that a surgical site on his back from 2021 had reopened after torture.
