Second Suspect Related to London Subway Bombing Arrested

British police announced on Sunday that another person has been arrested in connection with the bombing on Friday in the London subway. The arrested individual is a 21-year-old man, and further details about his identity have not been disclosed. According to a report by Agence France-Presse, this arrest, which is the second in recent days related to the London incident, took place in the Hounslow area of West London. Earlier, London police had arrested an 18-year-old man in connection with the bombing at Parsons Green subway station, which left 30 injured. The police consider this attack to be terrorist in nature and have stated that they are still searching for other suspects related to this bombing. In this context, Amber Rudd, the British Home Secretary, said on Sunday that the police are investigating how this 18-year-old became influenced by extremism. The London subway bombing is reported to be the fifth terrorist attack in Britain in six months, and the Islamic State group has claimed responsibility for it. Although this attack did not result in any fatalities, four other attacks in the past six months in Britain have led to the deaths of 35 people. Following Friday's attack, the security alert level in London has been raised to the highest level, 'critical,' indicating the likelihood of another attack. It has also been reported that following this attack, British military forces have been deployed in key areas, including the country's nuclear sites. The last time Britain experienced this level of security alert was in early June of this year, following an explosion in Manchester that resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries, for which ISIS also claimed responsibility. However, the British Home Secretary expressed doubt on Sunday in an interview with the BBC regarding ISIS's involvement in this attack. Amber Rudd stated that while it is 'inevitable' for ISIS to claim responsibility for such attacks, 'we still have no evidence that this indicates such a matter.'
