Security Forces Raid Shapur Rashnou's Home Resulting in His Wife's Miscarriage

Reports indicate that a nighttime raid by security forces on the residence of Shapur Rashnou, a political activist from Andimeshk, aimed at his arrest, led to his pregnant wife suffering a miscarriage due to the shock. A close associate of this national-religious political activist stated in an interview with Radio Farda that security forces, likely members of the IRGC Intelligence Unit, stormed Shapur Rashnou's home in Andimeshk at 1 AM on Wednesday, September 25, 2015, arrested him, and transferred him to an unknown location. During the arrest of this national-religious political activist, his wife, who was about three months pregnant, lost her child due to fear and the psychological pressure from the security forces' attack. Shapur Rashnou's wife spent the past few days in the hospital and has been hospitalized for several days due to the miscarriage. Simultaneously with Shapur Rashnou's arrest, security and intelligence agents also detained several other national-religious political activists in Andimeshk. According to the National-Religious website, security forces raided the homes of civil and labor activists in Andimeshk, arresting at least 10 people, including Ali Mohammad Jahangiri, Ms. Rahimkhani, and Ali Nejati from the Haft Tappeh Workers' Syndicate. Based on this report, Ezzatollah Jafari, another civil and national-religious activist from Andimeshk who was not present at the time of these arrests, was detained after voluntarily presenting himself to security agencies. It is reported that Ms. Rahimkhani was released in recent days after posting a bail of 100 million tomans. The charges against the detainees are unclear, but it is said that their case has been sent to the third branch of the prosecutor's office in Andimeshk.
