Senate Confirms First Members of Trump's Cabinet

The United States Senate has confirmed the first members of the cabinet of the 45th President of the United States. James Mattis will lead the Department of Defense, and John Kelly will become the Secretary of Homeland Security. 99 senators out of 100 voted in favor of retired General James Mattis, with only Senator Kirsten Gillibrand from New York voting against him. Retired General John Kelly also received 88 votes in favor and 11 against.
