In response to Hezbollah's deadly rocket attack on Israel on Saturday, he stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran, through its proxies such as Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis, is the 'real devil' in the Middle East. Senator Schumer asserted that Israel has the right to defend itself against Hezbollah just as it does against Hamas. The Democratic Majority Leader in the US Senate noted that the victims of Hezbollah's deadly attack on Israel were Arab children and that Hezbollah does not care about human lives. However, Senator Schumer added that he believes no one is seeking to escalate the war and hopes that actions will be taken to reduce tensions. Chuck Schumer also responded to a question about why he did not shake hands with Benjamin Netanyahu during his speech to the US Congress, stating that he attended the session due to the 'ironclad' relationship between the US and Israel, but he has 'serious disagreements' with Netanyahu's policy execution. Chuck Schumer, the highest-ranking Jewish politician in the United States, had previously called for Netanyahu's resignation and early elections in Israel during a critical speech in the Senate on March 14. Hezbollah, the main proxy arm of the Islamic Republic of Iran, launched rockets on Saturday afternoon at a children's soccer field in the Golan Heights of Israel, killing 12 children and teenagers aged 10 to 20 and injuring dozens more. Senior Israeli officials have warned that they will not simply overlook Hezbollah's actions and that this group, supported by the Islamic Republic of Iran, will pay a heavy price. Additionally, it was reported that the deadly attack by Hezbollah was carried out using the Iranian 'Falaq 1' rocket.
