Seven Prisoners Executed in Tabriz, Two in Rasht and Isfahan

According to human rights sources, the judiciary of the Islamic Republic executed the death sentences of seven prisoners in Tabriz Central Prison and two prisoners in the prisons of Rasht and Isfahan. The Hengaw Human Rights Organization reported that early on Monday, October 30, the death sentences of Reza Abbasi, a Gilaki prisoner in Rasht Central Prison, and Mohammad Ashouri, a Lor prisoner held in Isfahan Central Prison, were carried out. Hengaw stated that Mohammad Ashouri had been detained for six years and Reza Abbasi for four years on similar charges of 'premeditated murder'. Hengaw reported that the death sentences of seven Turkish prisoners, including one woman, were also executed in Tabriz Central Prison. The human rights organization noted that early on Sunday, October 29, the death sentences of four prisoners named Nasrin Firoozi, Mohammad (surname unknown), Siamak Molaei, and Hassan Yousofi, who had previously been sentenced to death for 'premeditated murder', were carried out in Tabriz Central Prison. Accordingly, this human rights media announced that simultaneously, the death sentence of a prisoner identified as Mohammad Amin Noorafkan, who had been detained two years ago on drug-related charges and sentenced to death, was also executed. Reports indicate that on Saturday, October 28, two other prisoners from Tabriz named Javad Ebrahimi, 35, and Behzad Ghafari, 40, who had been detained three years ago on drug-related charges in a joint case, were executed. The Hengaw Human Rights Organization reported that since the beginning of this year, at least 76 Turkish prisoners, including seven women, have been executed in the prisons of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
