Several Detained Teachers and Labor Activists Released on Heavy Bail

Labor organizations reported the release of several labor activists and teachers who were detained on Sunday and Monday, the 17th and 18th of Ordibehesht. According to them, Anisha Asadollahi, a labor activist and translator for the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Workers' Syndicate; Reyhaneh Ansarinezha, a labor activist; Aldoz Hashemi, a teachers' union activist; Zahle Rouhzad, a retired teacher and teachers' union activist; Hirad Pirbadaghi, a labor activist; and Asal Mohammadi, a labor activist, have been temporarily released on heavy bails, including bails of one billion tomans. They were arrested on the 8th of Ordibehesht while visiting the family of Mohammad Habibi, the spokesperson of the imprisoned Teachers' Syndicate of Tehran, at his home, by security forces. On the same day, some of the detainees were released, but nine of them were transferred to Ward 209 of Evin Prison. Sarvnaz Ahmadi, Kamyar Fakour, and Hassan Ebrahimi remained imprisoned until Tuesday evening. In this regard, the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Workers' Syndicate demanded their unconditional release. The syndicate also reported that the hearing for the case of Davood Razavi, a member of its board of directors who is imprisoned, was postponed after eight months of uncertainty due to a lack of coordination between the Revolutionary Court and the prison. According to this report, after Mr. Razavi's lawyer visited the court and followed up, Branch 15 of the Revolutionary Court mistakenly sent the summons for Davood Razavi to Greater Tehran Prison, while he had been transferred back to Evin Prison for some time. Therefore, the hearing was postponed to another day by the judge's order. Davood Razavi, a board member of the Bus Workers' Syndicate, was arrested in Mehr 1401 and has been in uncertainty for eight months, which included long interrogations, being held in solitary confinement, transferring from Evin Prison to Greater Tehran Prison, and back to Evin, along with multiple health issues. In this regard, even bail or medical leave has not been set for him despite his illness. In addition to Mr. Razavi, Reza Shahabi, a board member, and Hassan Saidi, a member of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Workers' Syndicate, were also arrested last year and sentenced to prison on security charges. The syndicate called for the prompt holding of the hearing for Davood Razavi's case, the cancellation of all "baseless accusations and fabricated cases against this imprisoned worker, and the unconditional release of Davood Razavi, Reza Shahabi, Hassan Saidi, and other labor activists and teachers." Meanwhile, the HRANA news agency reported that Narges Mansouri, a civil activist and a member of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Workers' Syndicate, was transferred from Evin Prison to Pars Hospital in Tehran on Saturday, the 16th of Ordibehesht, due to her poor health and underwent surgery. HRANA quoted an informed source stating that Ms. Mansouri remains in the hospital after undergoing a hysterectomy. Narges Mansouri was arrested by security forces in early 1401. In Aban 98, in Branch 26 of the Revolutionary Court of Tehran, presided over by Judge Afshari, she was sentenced to five years in prison for the charge of "collusion and conspiracy against national security" and one year for the charge of "propaganda against the regime." Narges Mansouri was one of the signatories of a statement by fourteen women activists calling for Ali Khamenei's resignation.
