Several Family Members of Negar Karimiann Summoned by Isfahan Intelligence Office

Several family members of Negar Karimiann, a young woman killed by government forces in a shooting in Aligudarz, have been summoned by the Isfahan Intelligence Office. The human rights organization "Hengaw" reported on Thursday, March 15, that the summonses occurred after the news of Negar Karimiann's death became public, and at the same time, other family members have been threatened in phone calls. Previously, the Persian section of Voice of America reported, citing an informed source, that following a direct shooting by a police officer from close range at a family's vehicle in Aligudarz, Lorestan province, 21-year-old Negar Karimiann was killed. According to this informed source, who requested anonymity, at 1 AM on Wednesday, March 8, the vehicle carrying Negar Karimiann was mistakenly targeted from a distance of one meter instead of a drug transport vehicle while returning from Aligudarz to Isfahan. The source added that the bullet "passed through the driver's side door, injured Negar's father's hand, hit Negar in the abdomen, exited from her back, and got stuck inside the car's column without exiting." The source stated that at the time of the incident, besides Negar Karimiann and her father, "two of her sisters and the husband of one of her sisters" were also in the car. According to this exclusive report, after the incident, Negar Karimiann was taken to "Imam Sadiq Hospital in Aligudarz but died at 3:30 AM due to internal bleeding." This is not the first time that government agents have shot directly at citizens' vehicles under the pretext of "suspicion." The source noted that Negar Karimiann, a 21-year-old single woman, was born on August 19, 2002, and was originally from Boroujen Bakhtiari but lived in Isfahan. The hasty shooting of officers at vehicles has previously resulted in the deaths of several citizens, including children. News sources reported on February 20 that during direct shooting by plainclothes forces of the Islamic Republic in Boroujerd, one citizen was killed and another injured. Additionally, in the early days of last winter, a 12-year-old girl named Soha Etebari was killed due to officers shooting at a vehicle on a road in Hormozgan province. A young woman was killed in Boroujerd due to shooting by plainclothes officers of the Islamic Republic at a vehicle. A fuel carrier was killed following shooting by military forces of the Islamic Republic. News sources reported the "brain death" of a kolbar due to shooting by the Islamic Republic's forces.
