Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi Wishes Freedom and Liberation for 'Brave and Aware Women of Iran' on International Women's Day

In a message on the occasion of March 8, International Women's Day, Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi stated: "Today, Iranian women inside and outside the homeland strive for freedom and the elevation of Iran's name, and I wish for freedom and liberation for these brave and aware women." The widow of the late Shah of Iran commemorated the role of women throughout history and congratulated Iranian women both domestically and abroad for their efforts towards freedom and the elevation of Iran's name, adding: "The celebration of International Women's Day is a testament to the gratitude of the world for the role that women have played throughout history in the advancement of the world and human goals." Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi referred to the history of Iran and the presence of prominent women such as Pourandokht, Azarmidokht, Rudabeh, Tahmineh, Gordafarid, Forough Farrokhzad, and Simin Behbahani, describing Iranian women as brave, capable, and hardworking individuals who have endured the hardships of life over centuries with resilience. She continued by appreciating the efforts of Iranian women inside and outside the country for the freedom of Iranians and the elevation of Iran's name, congratulating all women around the world on International Women's Day and sincerely wishing freedom and liberation for brave and aware Iranian women. She concluded her message with the slogans "Light conquers darkness" and "Woman, Life, Freedom."
