Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi's Appeal to All Human Rights Organizations: Do Not Spare Efforts for the Freedom of Toumaj Salehi

On Saturday, Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi published a post on 'X' referring to the death sentence issued for Toumaj Salehi, urging the United Nations and all human rights organizations not to spare any efforts for his freedom. In her post, she wrote that Toumaj Salehi, a popular Iranian singer, has been sentenced to death solely for the crime of composing and singing in praise of freedom and supporting Iranian women's efforts to achieve freedom. Shahbanou Farah Pahlavi also stated: 'The United Nations and all human rights organizations in every country around the world must stand with artists whose voices resonate in support of freedom of expression and art from all over the world and spare no effort for the freedom of this great Iranian artist.' Meanwhile, on Saturday, Iranians in several countries, including Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Finland, Italy, and Switzerland, took to the streets to protest against the issuance of death sentences for prisoners, including Toumaj Salehi, Mojahid Korkoor, Reza Rasayi, and Abbas Daris, demanding the severance of diplomatic and economic relations with institutions affiliated with the Islamic Republic. Criticism continues in Iran and around the world regarding the death sentence for Toumaj Salehi. His lawyers say that no new developments have occurred in their client's case; he should have been pardoned last year.
