Shahbanu Farah Pahlavi: I believe light will triumph over darkness and the great nation of Iran will reclaim its lost glory

Shahbanu Farah Pahlavi, in a message marking the beginning of the Persian New Year, outlined the difficulties faced by the people of Iran on social media platform 'X': 'I believe that you, the great nation of Iran, will reclaim your homeland and lost glory.' The widow of the late Shah of Iran continued to extend her New Year wishes to 'dear compatriots' and to all people celebrating this ancient Iranian tradition around the world, adding: 'In these moments, alongside the Haft-Seen of Nowruz, I remember the flood victims of Sistan and Baluchestan who are starting the New Year under unfavorable conditions; I remember the brave women and men who are imprisoned for their quest for freedom and justice; and I remember all the mothers who have lost their beloved ones in the struggle for the freedom and dignity of our homeland.' Shahbanu Farah Pahlavi also stated: 'I am aware of the hardships faced by my compatriots in Iran. I know that the regime that takes bread from your table and kills your youth has drained your strength. Your tables are getting smaller every day, and despite rising prices, you can hardly celebrate Nowruz.' She considered the observance of Nowruz and other Iranian rituals as a crucial method of resistance against invaders and occupiers, emphasizing: 'Do not forget that we Iranians have always been able to overcome hardships by standing firm on our rich culture and relying on national will and solidarity throughout our history; for this reason, I believe that this time, light will triumph over darkness, and you, the great nation of Iran, will reclaim your homeland and lost glory.'
