A source close to Shakila Monfared, a political prisoner, told Voice of America that she is still on hunger strike. Meanwhile, Ashkan Monfared, the brother of this political prisoner, announced that authorities returned his sister to Evin Prison on Sunday night. On Monday, August 15, Ashkan Monfared reported that his sister was returned from Taleghani Hospital in Tehran to Evin Prison on the night of August 14. Hours earlier, a source close to Shakila Monfared told the Persian section of Voice of America that this political prisoner, who was transferred to the hospital due to her deteriorating health from the hunger strike, is still on hunger strike. Ashkan Monfared wrote on the social media platform X: "Shakila was returned to Evin Prison last night after three days of hospitalization." Shakila Monfared, a monarchist political prisoner, has been on hunger strike since August 9 in protest against renewed charges during her imprisonment, and on the evening of August 11, she was transferred from the women's ward of Evin Prison to Taleghani Hospital in Tehran due to her serious health condition.
