Shooting in Tel Aviv Market Leaves Four Dead

Israeli police say that a shooting in a market in central Tel Aviv on Wednesday, June 9, resulted in four deaths and several injuries. According to the Associated Press, Luba Samri, a spokesperson for the Israeli police, stated that the shooting occurred at 'Sarona Market.' CNN reported that the Israeli police also announced that they had arrested 'two terrorists' following the shooting in this market. The attack reportedly took place at 9:30 PM local time in Sarona Market, which has many restaurants and bars where many young people spend their leisure time. According to CNN, another police official stated that one of the attackers was injured by police gunfire and is currently in the hospital, while the other attacker has also been arrested. According to AFP, the two attackers in Wednesday's assault on Sarona Market were two Palestinian cousins from the Hebron area. The police are currently conducting searches and investigations by sealing off the attack site. Mikey Reznfeld, an Israeli police official, also stated that police forces are inspecting the area to ensure there is no further danger. An official from Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv also mentioned that five people were injured in the shooting on Wednesday and are hospitalized along with one of the attackers. This hospital official also added that the condition of some of the injured from this incident is critical.
