Sky News: Identity and Address of Thousands of ISIS Members Obtained

Sky News has announced that it has obtained the identity, address, phone numbers, and family contacts of thousands of ISIS members through a "disillusioned former member" of the Islamic State group. In a report published on March 10, the British network states that the identities were found on a memory card provided to a journalist by a former ISIS member who had stolen it from the group's "secret police" headquarters. According to AFP, intelligence agencies were already aware of the identities of some of these individuals. However, the identities of others, from Northern Europe and the USA to Africa and the Middle East, appear to be revealed for the first time. The documents reportedly contain the identities of 22,000 ISIS members from 51 countries, including recruitment forms that answered questions such as blood type, mother's surname, or "level of familiarity with Sharia." Sky News claims it has informed British authorities of its findings, but government officials in London have yet to respond to the news. Richard Barrett, a former director of the British Secret Intelligence Service, stated on Twitter that these documents will be "extremely valuable resources for analysis." The individual who stole the "memory card" is identified as "Abu Hamid," who handed it to a journalist in Turkey. He claimed to have previously been a member of the "Free Army" before joining the "Islamic State." Abu Hamid asserted that the "Islamic State" is facing various problems at its main base in Raqqa, Syria, and its members are moving towards the deserts.
