The nominees for the 17th Asia Pacific Screen Awards have been announced, and Soheila Golestani, actress in the film 'Fig Tree Seeds of Temples' directed by Mohammad Rasoulof, has been nominated for Best Actress. Meanwhile, Radio Farda has learned that in recent weeks, a new wave of judicial actions against the crew of 'Fig Tree Seeds of Temples' has begun in Iran, and last week several production members, including Soheila Golestani, were summoned to the Security Prosecutor's Office of the Revolutionary Court. As a result, Soheila Golestani's attendance at the Asia Pacific Screen Awards ceremony, which will be held on November 30 in Australia, is now uncertain. This year, for the first time, nominees in the acting category of the Asia Pacific Screen Awards were announced without gender distinction, and Soheila Golestani is among the five nominees for the award. The film 'Fig Tree Seeds of Temples' has been screened at various festivals after its debut at Cannes, where it won the Jury's Special Prize, and recently won the Audience Award for Best Film at the San Sebastián Festival in Spain. The film, which was secretly made in Iran, tells the story of a Tehran Revolutionary Court judge whose lost weapon during nationwide protests leads him to suspect his wife and two young daughters. Additionally, the German embassy did not grant Soheila Golestani, a protesting artist, a visa to participate in a cultural event.
