Statements by the Commander of the IRGC on 'Moving Towards a Great Civilization'

The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated that 'we are moving towards a great Islamic civilization' and described the status of the export of the Islamic Revolution outside Iran as 'very favorable', adding that the revolution 'needs to progress faster' within Iran. According to Fars News Agency, Mohammad Ali Jafari spoke on Tuesday, April 14, about the 'development of the lofty goals of the Islamic Revolution beyond Iran's borders' and noted that 'we are in the process of civilization-building and moving towards a great Islamic civilization.' He referred to recent developments in Yemen, stating: 'The status of the Islamic Revolution of Iran abroad is very favorable, and today we are witnessing Islamic awakening and Islamic resistance.' Jafari also emphasized that the revolution 'needs to progress faster' at this time within the country. The IRGC commander warned that 'anyone who stands against the Islamic Revolution on this path will face certain and inevitable defeat.' He mentioned that 'we have overcome military and security threats despite some challenges' and called for greater efforts towards what he termed 'moral education' and 'rational education' of the Iranian people. He also added that: 'Development and progress have been misaligned or not based on justice, which must be addressed with more precise planning and increased effort.' On April 7, Jafari had referred to the 'goal of the Islamic Revolution' as the establishment of an 'Islamic civilization.' Meanwhile, Ali Shadmani, Deputy Operations Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Iran, stated on Saturday, April 5, that the leader of the Islamic Republic has entrusted the management of the 'Resistance Front' to the IRGC. The Islamic Republic of Iran refers to the Syrian government, as well as Hezbollah, Hamas, and other Palestinian groups opposing Middle Eastern peace, as forming the 'Resistance Front' against Israel. Jafari's comments regarding the export of the revolution come at a time when some countries have expressed concern over Iran's expanding influence in the region. For instance, a day before these statements, Emrullah Isler, a special advisor to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, accused Iran of causing more harm to the Islamic world with its actions in Syria and Yemen than Zionism has over decades. Previously, the Turkish president had accused Iran of attempting to dominate the Middle East, stating that this has 'exasperated' Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf Arab states. Nevertheless, the IRGC commander emphasized in his remarks on Tuesday that 'today, the latest achievement of the Islamic Revolution is in Yemen, where Yemenis are standing firm and resisting by emulating the Islamic Republic's stand against the system of domination.' He added: 'No matter how much regional and extra-regional enemies of the Islamic Revolution try to extinguish and halt this movement of resistance, they cannot.' On April 7, Jafari also stated that 'the first wave of the Islamic Revolution led to the collapse of communism, and subsequent waves will, God willing, lead to the fall of the Al Saud.' Meanwhile, Mohammad Mohammadi Golpayegani, head of the office of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, emphasized on Saturday, April 12, that 'with God's grace,' the 'Al Saud' will soon become 'the Al Fall.'
