Summons of Ata Moradi to the Revolutionary Court

In the name of the pure God, Ata Moradi, a law student, journalist, political secretary, and founding member of the National Union of Students and Graduates of Iran, has been summoned to the Revolutionary Court. The pain of the events of July 9, 1999, at Tehran University has not yet healed for the student companions, and once again a student from the cultured land of Iran has been called to court. The suffering, torture, and anguish from the events of July 9 in the dormitories, in the solitary confinement cells of the notorious Towhid prison, are still fresh in memory. Undoubtedly, most readers have seen and read his articles aimed at negating autocracy and illegitimate institutions lacking popular legitimacy published in the newspaper 'Tose'e' and on various websites. In this context, the regime's goal of limiting and intimidating this thoughtful and dissenting student is crystal clear. The pen of Mr. Moradi, which challenges the core of these appointed institutions with realistic analyses, effectively undermines the legitimacy of such institutions (like the Guardian Council) by questioning their effectiveness and rationality. The authoritarian goal of suppressing student movements reflects the political blockage in the student movement's atmosphere. However, it should not be forgotten that thought is born from intellect and is an indestructible and undeniable entity. In conclusion, the National Union of Students and Graduates of Iran warns against any arrest or confrontation with this intellectual and freedom-loving student and calls for domestic and international reactions from human rights communities regarding the ongoing suppression of students.
