Tabriz Girl Rejects Islamic Republic's Claims, Says: 'I Am in Perfect Physical and Mental Health.'

Roya Zakeri, a protesting girl from Tabriz who was transferred to a psychiatric hospital due to her protests against compulsory hijab, stated in a recently released video that she is in perfect physical and mental health and denies the accusations made by the Islamic Republic against her. Roya Zakeri added: 'After I held a paper with the slogan 'Death to the Principle of Velayat-e Faqih' during last year's public protests and went in front of Tabriz University, I was arrested during a police raid and subsequently detained. After that, I was hospitalized three times at Razi Psychiatric Hospital by court order.' In the video, Roya Zakeri explained the events following her arrest: 'While in detention, I went on a hunger strike until someone introduced themselves as a doctor and filmed me. Ultimately, they said they would follow up and told me to eat my food.' She continued: 'As soon as I ate some food, I was transferred from the police detention center to Tabriz Central Prison, where I was held for 16 days as a political prisoner in quarantine.' The Tabriz girl stated that she went on another hunger strike in Tabriz prison and was sent back to Razi Hospital on the sixteenth day by court order, where she was hospitalized for a month. Roya Zakeri also explained that she had recently gone to the cyber police due to her bank card being blocked, and when they told her it would not be unblocked, she responded that she would not leave until they gave her a proper answer. They detained her for five days in the central prison for this reason, and after her release, she went to the streets to protest. Roya Zakeri, who has become known on social media as 'the girl from Tabriz,' was arrested in October this year after confronting hijab enforcers and shouting 'Death to Khamenei.'
