Tehran Prosecutor Official: The Film 'We Don't Get Used To' Has Been Seized

An informed official from the Tehran Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor's Office announced on Wednesday that the film 'We Don't Get Used To' has been seized due to its 'advertising on anti-revolutionary and unauthorized satellite networks.' Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Display Guild stated that the screening of this film will continue until an official order is issued. The unnamed Tehran prosecutor told the IRNA news agency that since the film's producer ignored repeated warnings from the prosecutor's office regarding the need to stop advertising on anti-revolutionary and unauthorized satellite networks, a seizure order for the film 'We Don't Get Used To' was issued. However, the spokesperson for the Display Guild mentioned that the film's screening continues as no such news has reached them. Gholamreza Faraji told IRNA that they have not received any such news from the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance. According to the report, the film 'We Don't Get Used To' has been showing in Iranian cinemas since June 12. Abbas Jafari Dolatabadi, the Tehran Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor, had warned producers and filmmakers on June 8 about 'broadcasting promotional teasers for their films on satellite networks.' A few days after this warning, the producers of three films, 'Nameless Alley,' 'Eternal and One Day,' and '50 Kilos of Cherry,' were summoned to the fourth branch of the Culture and Media Prosecutor's Office. According to ISNA, these individuals were summoned due to 'broadcasting promotional teasers for their films on satellite networks.' Saeed Malekan, the producer of 'Eternal and One Day,' Morteza Shayesteh, the producer of '50 Kilos of Cherry,' and Lashgari Qoochani, the producer of 'Nameless Alley,' are among those summoned. Mansour Lashgari Qoochani announced on Tuesday that Sadegh Larijani, the head of the judiciary, was present in court to review the broadcasting of promotional teasers for films on satellite networks as a 'defendant.' According to this producer, they 'did not provide their promotional teasers to satellite networks as Iranian film producers.' In this context, the Iranian Directors Guild protested against the 'positions' of the Minister and officials of the Ministry of Culture, and three Iranian film producers were summoned to the Culture and Media Prosecutor's Office. The Tehran Prosecutor's Office summoned three artists to serve their prison sentences. The spokesperson for the Ministry of Culture stated that the film 'The Salesman' will be screened with 'internal considerations.'
