The tensions were concentrated in the suburbs of Paris and in the Nanterre area. Lawyers say Nael M, 17, was killed on Tuesday during a traffic check. According to the Nanterre prosecutor's office, the police officer suspected of shooting him has been arrested and faces potential charges of involuntary manslaughter. The victim's family's lawyer wants murder charges to be filed against this officer. Macron called for calm and respect for Nael's relatives.
