The Assailant of the American Police Officer is 'Supporter of ISIS'

An armed assailant who severely injured a police officer in Philadelphia, USA, claims to have acted in support of the 'Islamic State' (ISIS). The assailant is named Edward Archer, and the attacked officer is Jesse Hartnett, a 33-year-old. This attack occurred on Thursday night, January 7, at midnight. According to police officials, three bullets hit the officer's arm. The police have arrested the assailant. Richard Ross, the police inspector, told reporters, 'He (Archer) admitted to committing this cowardly act in the name of Islam.' According to Mr. Ross, the assailant also identified himself as being linked to ISIS militants. Captain James Clark of the Philadelphia police added, 'He said he is a supporter of ISIS, a follower of Allah, and that is why he acted.' Reuters quoted officials from the American-Islamic Relations Council, one of the major Muslim communities in the United States, stating that they have no evidence that Archer was a practicing Muslim. Richard Ross, the police inspector, says there is still no evidence that he acted with or had help from anyone else. He describes the assailant as not being an 'idiot' but 'extremely violent.'
